I thought I would use some of my post-surgery recuperation time to finally update you on all of our activities!
Social Studies: we have been studying the Revolutionary War. In addition to learning about the causes of the war and important events, each student chose an important person of the time to research. Students created a biography cube and a written biography sketch. These sketches were then put together into a class book by Miss McConville in the library. Please click on the link to view our book!

Science: we completed our energy unit- it was a bit disjointed due to school delays and closings but we had fun doing some experiments. There are pictures posted on the class photo page. Our next unit will be a continuation of the last unit with electricity.
Math: the fraction unit continues! We are actually approaching the end of this huge unit. The students are doing very well and seem to be really understanding fractions!
ELA/writing: we began Unit 15 in the Journeys book this week. Our focus in writing has been persuasive/opinion writing.
The month of March brings us to the reality that the state tests are right around the corner. We will be doing some practice for these tests but I prefer to think of test prep as more of a review of our year. Fourth graders participate in the ELA, math and science state assessments.
